VISHNU
Vishnu is known as the preserver and protector within the Trimurti, alongside Brahma and Shiva. He is believed to uphold dharma, the cosmic order, and restore balance whenever it is disrupted. Vishnu is often depicted resting on the cosmic serpent Shesha, floating on the ancient ocean, symbolizing infinite time, stability, and the foundation of existence. Vishnu is said to descend to Earth in different forms, avatars, to restore righteousness and guide humanity. Some of his most well-known incarnations include Ram and Krishna, both central to the epics The Ramayana and The Mahabharata. Vishnu’s cosmic role and the structure of the universe, emphasizing devotion as a path to understanding the sustaining force behind all creation is further described in The Vishnu Purana.
