BRAHMA
Brahma is part of the Hindu Trimurti which also includes Shiva and Vishnu. Brahma’s consort is Saraswati, who represents wisdom, speech, knowledge, and creative inspiration. He is traditionally depicted with four faces, symbolizing wisdom and knowledge of all directions, and is often shown seated upon a lotus flower. In his hands he commonly carries the Vedas, a mala, a water pot, and a lotus, representing sacred knowledge, spiritual discipline, and the creative power of the universe. According to Hindu tradition, Brahma emerged from a lotus growing from the navel of Vishnu and was entrusted with the creation of the cosmos and all living beings. Brahma is an important symbol of divine intelligence, creativity, and the unfolding of life. His four faces are also associated with the four Vedas and remind seekers that wisdom and awareness are the foundation of all creation.
