ANANDAMAYI MA

Anandamayi Ma was an Indian mystic, saint, and spiritual teacher revered by many as an embodiment of the Divine Mother. Known as the “Bliss-Pervaded Mother,” she was admired for her profound wisdom, loving presence, and natural state of spiritual enlightenment. Without a traditional guru, she experienced spontaneous yogic practices and deep states of divine consciousness, which she described as sadhana leela, or the “play” of spiritual practice. Her husband, Bholanath, became her first devotee after recognizing her spiritual greatness. Anandamayi Ma taught that all religions ultimately lead to the same truth and that everyday activities can become a path to spiritual growth when performed with love, sincerity, and devotion. She emphasized self-realization, detachment from worldly desires, and awareness of the interconnectedness of all life. Her teachings continue to inspire spiritual seekers worldwide and are referenced in the book Autobiography of a Yogi by Paramahansa Yogananda.
