GANDHI
KEY TO HEALTH
by M.K. GANDHI
Mahatma Gandhi, was a pivotal figure in India's independence movement and a global advocate for nonviolent resistance. He led India to freedom from British rule through civil disobedience which included The Salt March, a 240-mile nonviolent protest. He is remembered for his philosophy of Satyagraha, a practice of nonviolent resistance rooted in truth and love. Satyagraha is not merely a tactic but a way of life, striving for positive social transformation through peaceful means. It emphasizes self-suffering and a steadfast commitment to one's ethical beliefs as a means to confront injustice and bring about social and political change. His influence extends far beyond India, inspiring movements for civil rights and freedom worldwide.

GANDHI WITH SPINNING WHEEL
Gandhi's theory on the spinning wheel was that it was a tool for economic independence, political resistance, and social unity, promoting self-reliance and dignity through manual labor. He saw spinning as a unifying activity that could bridge class and caste divides, foster village-level organization, and serve as a practical means for a common citizen to participate in the freedom movement against British rule. It was not just a symbol of rejecting foreign goods, but also a moral and practical way to instill discipline and self-worth in all Indians, including the elite.

THE KINGDOM OF GOD IS WITHIN YOU
by LEO TOLSTOY
Leo Tolstoy profoundly inspired Gandhi, particularly through his book The Kingdom of God is Within You. Tolstoy's writings on nonviolent resistance, simple living and finding one's own spiritual path deeply influenced Gandhi, leading him to adopt similar principles and eventually name his own community farm "Tolstoy Farm".
