SARASWATI

Saraswati is the Hindu goddess of knowledge, wisdom, learning, music, and the arts. She is widely revered as the divine source of insight, creativity, and intellectual clarity. She is part of the Tridevi alongside Lakshmi and Parvati, each representing different aspects of feminine divine power. She is typically depicted wearing a white sari, symbolizing purity and truth, and seated on a white lotus, representing spiritual knowledge and detachment from material distractions. Saraswati is often shown holding a veena (a classical Indian musical instrument), a book (representing sacred knowledge such as the Vedas), and prayer beads, while a swan or peacock may appear beside her. The swan is especially significant, as it symbolizes the ability to discern truth from illusion. Devotees worship Saraswati to seek clarity of mind, success in education, inspiration in the arts, and mastery of speech and learning. Her festival, Saraswati Puja is widely celebrated in India as a day dedicated to books, music, and the pursuit of knowledge.
