LAHIRI MAHASAYA

Lahiri Mahasaya was a Indian yogi and spiritual master who played a role in bringing the ancient practice of Yoga to modern seekers. Although he lived as a householder with a family and career, he demonstrated that profound spiritual realization is possible while fulfilling everyday responsibilities. His life showed that spiritual growth does not require withdrawal from the world but can be achieved through sincere practice and devotion. Lahiri Mahasaya taught meditation, self-discipline, and direct experience of the Divine, emphasizing that spiritual truth is available to people of all backgrounds. Known for his wisdom, humility, and compassion, his teachings are shared in Autobiography of a Yogi written by Paramahansa Yogananda.
