The Himalayas are unique for being the world's highest mountain range, and boast deep cultural and spiritual significance as home to ancient traditions and sacred sites.  There are an estimated 4 to 5 million sadhus in India. Some live in remote and mystical places, including practicing asceticism in the rugged Himalayan terrain.
